Car rental help?

Are you spending any time in Minneapolis, especially downtown ?

You can take the light rail downtown, if you are staying down there.

Most of the major rentors have downtown locations, and you%26#39;d bi-pass the extra airport taxes.

Also, one of our local large auto dealers has a car rental agency, with outlets in some major cities too.

Try checking them out -

Hotwire is a blind bidding site - you might end up with one of the major vendors anyway. Just make sure the price you bid is AFTER all taxes / fees.

I have not used Hot Wire so I cannot comment.

I%26#39;ve always had very good luck with Alamo, their prices seem to be much lower than Avis, Hertz, National, etc. and I%26#39;ve always had good cars %26amp; great service.

Gas is currently averaging in the $3.55-$3.65 range - at least this is my observation. Prices could, of course, fluctuate widely depending during your trip. This site will allow you to track price changes: http://www.twincitiesgasprices.com/

Good luck!

You might also try National or Enterprise. Make sure you ask about alternative rental locations or places that deliver the car to you. Just because the airport locations sellout doesn%26#39;t mean the company (ie. Avis, Hertz, etc.) is totally soldout.
