snow on the ground

Just doing a weather check...any snow on the ground...should I pack my boots and bring them?

snow on the ground

No snow any more, but what you have to understand is winter has a sense of humor in Minnesota. It%26#39;s only trying to trick us into thinking it%26#39;s spring by giving us 50 degrees, then snowing, then 50 degrees ... and now snow is in the forecast for Friday and then again Saturday. However, it%26#39;s supposed to be light. 1-2 inches tomorrow, which should melt quickly if it accumulates at all.

But it is due to snow Saturday too (1-2 inches), however the temp will be in the low to mid-30s, high of 36, so it could melt right away.

I wouldn%26#39;t worry about boots for the sake of cold. It won%26#39;t get cold except the middle of the night and early morning -- 20s maybe, which really isn%26#39;t that cold to require worrying about footwear. But you might want footwear to deal with slush and puddles.

It%26#39;s unfortunately the ugliest time of year around here -- browness everywhere with slush and black snow in melting piles that were formed by plows.

I would however watch out for the ice - all the melting/freezing has been hazardous in areas. Bring some good traction with you, and wear layers - it%26#39;s been an old-fashioned winter here and is slow letting go.

old-fashioned winter is right.

I like to say: ';A winter your grandparents would approve of.';

Yep, we%26#39;ve been spoiled the last few years, so this keeps us humble like true Lake Wobegoners!

I%26#39;m actually hoping for a bit of snow~I personally love it and being from Seattle we just don%26#39;t get it much.

Sounds like I should just bring the boots for the slush and to quit worrying about it.

Thanks everyone~arriving tomorrow night and looking forward to my trip!

Well, the forecast for snow increased in a hurry. It%26#39;s a virtual whiteout at the moment. I hope you mean what you say about wanting snow!

My wife and I are fine in the snow with no boots, but if you prefer boots for snow, by all means bring them.

Hope your flight is OK. I%26#39;d check flight status early and often today in the event of cancellations -- if it%26#39;s axed and you are keeping watch, you could be among the first to look into earlier flights. Makes all the differnce.

Not trying to be alarmist or anything, but never hurts to be thinking ahead.

So far so good. 2 PM pacific time and no delays as of yet.

Check the weather reports - lots of messy stuff coming - right now at 8pm on monday it is fine.

I wouldn%26#39;t worry about snow, just messy and wet

Any more snow fore casted for the rest of the week? Is there still snow on the ground today?

It%26#39;s still on the ground, but melting fast. The trees are budding and the ground is sloppy. We%26#39;re expecting 40s all week, but it%26#39;s been changing almost daily. Just keep an eye on the weather reports, esp at the last minute.
