Solo vaca

I%26#39;m living in MN and I started traveling solo a few years ago and love it, but I need suggestions as to where to go. Already done Montreal, NYC, and D.C. Mass transit and English as primary language are nice but not necessary. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum!

What are your interests? What is your budget?

There is plenty to see right here in the United States. Do you need mass transit because you don%26#39;t drive, or would you be able to rent a car?

Just west of here are the Badlands of South Dakota. You could visit Mount Rushmore, and don%26#39;t forget the Corn Palace!

San Francisco is a beautiful city, with mass transit.

Do you like history? If you would be willing to rent a car upon your arrival, maybe a tour of Civil War sights in the south would interest you.

How about New Orleans? Santa Fe, New Mexico? Seattle? Chicago, for Pete%26#39;s sake!

In addition, in most large cities in Europe the people speak English better than Americans. Amsterdam is a wonderful place, with great mass transit. Berlin, Vienna, Rome, London... The list is very long, indeed.

Decide what sounds good, then go to the forum for that location and start learning. Good luck.

If you like cities I would put San Francisco on the top of the list.

Boston is great - especially if you plan a side trip to cape cod.

I have been to a gazillion cities in the us so I have an opinion on many of them - It would be godd to know what you like to do.

I think everybody needs to spend some time in the Southwest - Anyplace the rocks can look like red flames is high on my list.

If you are game - try booking a spot on a mountain bike tour/trip in Moab Utah.

Although I can drive, it%26#39;s so much easier to be able to take subways or cabs. I%26#39;m not fond of the idea of getting lost in an unknown city. The cities I%26#39;ve already visited were chosen because they%26#39;re all rich in what I love -- culture, museums, shopping, food. I need stuff to keep me busy during the daylight hours. I%26#39;m leaning towards Chicago or San Francisco. Any thoughts on those two cities?

Charleston, SC is a wonderful and beautiful town to visit. I can%26#39;t remember what - if any - mass transit they have but it%26#39;s very compact so it%26#39;s easy to get around.
