We%26#39;ll be in Minneapolis 3 days for a conference in April, with most of Sunday and half of MOnday free before flying out. I%26#39;d appreciate advice to help me with transportation options w/ a day trip to St. Paul, or rent a car and go a bit further out (saw previous postings suggesting Stillwater, but am undecided when there is so much to see in the twin cities and we have essentially 24 hrs). Definitely not interested in MOA; will have some periods of free time during conference to see sites in Minneapolis, but could also fill Sun/Mon w/ museums, Minehaha park/bike ride to Ft. S and other light rail destinations. Looks like options are bus or taxi to St. Paul, how frequently do busses run on Sunday nite for the return trip, tour book estimated taxi $25-$30, or stay overnight in St. P? Thanks for your opinions!
transp to St. P for day trip or overnite
you could do light rail from downtown Minneapolis to both Fort Snelling %26amp; Minnehaha Park - depending on where your hotel is in Minneapolis.
As for St. Paul, if your going to see just things in the downtown area, you could bus over %26amp; back -
The web site %26amp; the info phone line can help you with routes / times / bus stops -

If you were planning on Stillwater, then rent a car.

If you look on metrotransit I believe it%26#39;s the 94 Express bus that will be fastest. But you%26#39;ll have to check the schedule to see when it runs. I%26#39;ve taken it only once, years ago.
Hey BostonB-
April weather can still suck here, I would suggest a car rental for flexability. Stillwater is very scenic, the drive north to Taylors Falls along the St Croix river is nice. In town stuff- try the Min. Institute of Arts..http://www.artsmia.org/
Its overlooked alot, but a very nice musuem. Welcome to our frozen world...
