Train to Mall

On my way Seoul, I have a 5 hour layover in Minneapolis. I was thinking about going to the Mall of America via the public train. By all indications, I should be able to spend 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the mall and still catch my flight if the train runs as frequently as it says it does. I know 2 1/2 to 3 hours is not enough time to see the entire mall but it is better than sitting around an airport for 5 hours.

Does the train operate efficiently? How many stops are there between the airport and the mall?

Train to Mall

That%26#39;s more than enough time to see the Mall and the train is efficient. I personally can only spend that much time there time on a good day, it%26#39;s exhausting to try to see everything. Definitely get out of the airport for that long a layover.

There are 4 stops between Lindbergh Terminal (which I assume you%26#39;re flying into?)

Train to Mall

It%26#39;s very simple, and should take about 12 minutes (once on board) to get to the mall from the Lindbergh Terminal. Train frequency varies by time of day -- about 8 minutes between during rush hour, for example.

For your purposes, a basic ticket should work -- last for 2.5 hours. So it would be good for the trip there and the return. Just buy it at the vending machine at the airport and hold onto it. No validation necessary, you just have to have it on you if a police officer asks for it. If you don%26#39;t have it, it%26#39;s a hefty fine.

I say go for it, but don%26#39;t push the time. I%26#39;d be back in the 2-hour window before international flights.
