Beware of Pickpocketers

I was in Minneapolis, MN two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I let my guard down and was pick pocketed. The thief took both my wallet and cell phone. This is not as safe or as friendly city as I expected. I urge you when visiting Minneapolis, MN be sure to KEEP CAUTION.

this is a bit alarmist to me. One incident doesn%26#39;t make a city unsafe, especially when compared with the victim%26#39;s hometown.

Speaking as someone who was born in Minneapolis, grew up in Chicago, and now has lived in Minneapolis again for the last twenty years, let%26#39;s not get in an argument over in which city one is more likely to have one%26#39;s pocket picked. If one is not paying attention, one%26#39;s pocket can be picked anywhere, no matter if one is in a large city or a small town in the country.

You should always be aware of your surroundings and use caution any place you may find yourself, on vacation or not.

I am sorry something like this happened to you in our city, which we are pretty proud of. Like any city, there are people who don%26#39;t represent the rest of us and will take advantage of not just visitors, but the population as well. I will also go out on a limb and guess you will find a few visitors who left Minneapolis and found the area and locals fun (maybe a bit looney ) and left with better memories of their visit. PS...love Chicago, had some great times in your town.

I wait on the street in downtown minneapolis everyday for a bus. I don%26#39;t see or hear much about theft.

By the way, how does a pick-pocket get both a phone and a wallet?
