Sites of interest in great Minn-SP area

We will be driving down 94 from Fargo and staying by Mall of America. Just wondering if there were points of interest outside of the downtowns. I know of Lake Calhoun and the Summit. Any not to be missed areas? I%26#39;d like to know of any points East of the Cities.

Another day I plan to drive around the downtowns and vicinities and do that in a day. Is it easy to find parking. I know that the Republican Convention is this weekend.

I have 48 hours in your city - great stuff from what I%26#39;ve read.

I%26#39;m with elderly people, so they can%26#39;t walk that much.

Unfortunately, I need to know with in the next 20 hours.

Thanks!

Well what do you like to do? I love the Grand Avenue area of St Paul and Cafe Latte serves a great breakfast and wonderful cheesecake. There are wonderful museums, like the History Center is St. Paul is quite well done. Minehaha Falls is lovely. Down by the Mississippi is lovely too. Stillwater is outside of the main two towns and is lovely as well. As far as East of MSP, do you mean Wisconsin? Pretty much 10 miles East or so from where you%26#39;re staying is Wisconsin. River Falls is a nice little town but off of I-94 a bit.

Nothing all that spectacular east of the Twin Cities, but a drive down the Mississippi, on either side, is certainly pleasant. There are some nice river towns, like Red Wing %26amp; Winona, MN, and Pepin, WI.

You shouldn%26#39;t have any trouble finding parking in Minneapolis. If you%26#39;re here during the RNC Convention, St. Paul might be challenging.

east of the Twin Cities metro area is the city of Stillwater. It%26#39;s situated on the St. Croix river (which makes up the border between MN and WI. It%26#39;s a scenic, charming place with small shops and boutiques and even a lift bridge. (That kind of thing is interesting to me -- what can I say?)

Take a look at some pictures of it and see it that%26#39;s something that fits what you%26#39;re looking for.

Near the mall there%26#39;s really not much to see. Pretty bland part of this area -- dominated by chain restaurants and hotels.Bland suburbia. I would explore Minneapolis -- perhaps the riverfront downtown, the chain of lakes (yes, Calhoun is one of them) or the previously mentioned Minnehaha Park/Falls.

I would recommend the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park in St. Paul.
