I need a room that is reasonably priced (around $130) during the Republican convention 9/3-9/6. All hotels filled for Wed and Thurs. Can you suggest any options? I tried the airport hotels in Bloomington and 1 in Roseville. All are $150 and up. I tried airbedandbreakfast but no luck.
I will be visiting my sister in St Paul on Laurel ST.
Thought I posted this already. If so, sorry
for the duplicate posting
Thanks for the help

You might try looking in the exurbs. Bloomington is too close to count as ';away-from-the-action';
It is just a very very tough time to visit -
need a hotel
BTW: what would you consider a good rate for your stay?
I just looked at expedia - the la quinta in brooklyn park has rooms at $90.
That is the closest hotel I could see less than $100.
thanks happytogoonvact. I would think that up to $130 would be a fair rate while the convention is on and then it might drop. I don%26#39;t know where Brooklyn Park is but I%26#39;ll check it out.
Just for kicks I tried the Day%26#39;s Inn St. Paul Midway location and they have rooms available during the time your here for ~$120 a night. It%26#39;s University Ave, which is the main non-freeway route between STP %26amp; MPLS, very close to I94, and about 10-15 minutes straight down Fairview Ave to the airport.
Dependending where on Laurel Ave. you%26#39;re she lives you could be 5 minutes to 15 minutes away (via car) from sister%26#39;s.
I%26#39;ve never been in the hotel - though I live nearby - so I can%26#39;t comment on quality, etc, but it always seems to be busy, which I take as a good sign.

The Midway Motel just off University on Snelling may have reasonable rooms - the number is 651 646-4585 or try the Minokur Motel on Cleveland Avenue just off Marshall at 651 690-0152 (I can%26#39;t place it although my kids lived on Cleveland in Highland Park).
thanks sully and lolly. I checked out the Days Inn on the Midway. It got a terrible review in Aug on Trip Advisor. I%26#39;ll try the 2 motels and I may have found a room via the airbed site.
