Lodging in stillwater

Will be traveling to Stillwater in sept for a wedding. Group of 4 people. One of the hotels recommended is already booked, the other - The Lowell Inn - has availabilities but check in is at 4 pm - no promise of an early check in. The problem is we are driving 6 hours that day and are supposed to be at the dock by 4 - the wedding is on the paddle boat. Would like to check in by 2 pm so can get ready properly. The Lowell was recommended because it was in walking distance of the dock, would it be better to book at one of the hotels further from the river and just take a cab? or are they too far away? really just staying for the night so nothing fancy is needed - any other suggestions would be helpful, also it looks like the bunswick inn would be in the same area, but can%26#39;t really find any info/pics of it. open to suggestions - thanx

Lodging in stillwater

I am not sure how available cabs will be in Stillwater.

Did you try the Water Street Inn, or was that booked hotel you tried? Really neat place and not a far walk from the dock area.

Other than B%26amp;Bs and inns there is not much as far as lodging in downtown Stillwater, most of the hotels are along Hwy. 36 SW of town.
