Spend two . three days

Hi,

I will stay for two - three days in Minneapolis, first week of July. I would appreciate any suggestion what to do those three days, biking, shopping, buy some tourist agencies packages or rent a car and drive somewhere for two days and come back to Minneapolis on third day?

Thank you,

Bero

If you have 2-3 days, I think you are best served staying in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area to explore and not spending the little time you have driving outside of the metro area.

Where will you be staying? That will help us figure out conveniently located sights to see.

If you have access to a bike, you%26#39;re in luck. Minneapolis has more bike trails per resident than any city in the US. I would bike the river trails along the Mississippi River from downtown Minneapolis to Fort Snelling, and if you have something left from that river trail to Lake Harriet along the Minnehaha Creek trail.

There is a biking path circuit that is based on twin trails on the St. Paul and Minneapolis sides of the Mississippi -- very scenic with bluffs and woodland. Search the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway on google and learn about it. There are interior maps of the Mississippi part of it.

Again, if you tell us where you plan to stay we can advise you further.

Putnik... funny - you will be here in Minnesota, and I%26#39;ll be on vaca in Croatia / Slovenia / Montenegro.

Any tips you can give me on Zagreb for hot spots in the evenings? Our days will be pretty much filled - group tour.

For Minneapolis - you might enjoy staying downtown - lots to do by the river %26amp; lakes. Check out some of the previous posts for visitors that came for Memorial Weekend.

You can light rail from the airport to downtown - only one line. That same line takes you to the Mall of America if interested in going there.

If you were to drive, maybe up to Duluth (3 hrs) and the North Shore (Lake Superior shoreline from Duluth to Canadian border) - 160 miles of state parks, water falls, hiking trails.
