Has anyone tried the Segway Tour of Minneapolis? It looks like fun but I haven%26#39;t seen any reviews. Also, I have one day to roam around (June 1st). Any ideas for other fun stuff to do? I%26#39;m staying downtown next to the conv. center, and don%26#39;t have a car.
Segway Tour in MSP
I see groups doing this when I walk around by the river. I guess if you got the $ and you want to try riding those machines, it could be fun. Otherwise you can walk to all the sites.

Segway Tour in MSP
I have no input on the segway tour. As noted, you can walk the route the tours take just as easily. People seem to like the segways but they%26#39;re a bit gimmicky for me. And pricey. But to each his own.
As far as other stuff to do, it seems like it depends on what you like to do. Being near the convention center you can easily walk to Loring Park, stroll through there over to Hennepin Ave. and across the big overpass to the Sculpture Garden and the Walker. It%26#39;s a neat part of town. Go right of the fountain in the park and follow the footpath around to to the Lyndale-Hennepin overpass. You could get a burger at Joe%26#39;s Garage on the way.
If real ambitious, check out metrotransit.org for bus schedules for a ride down Hennepin Avenue to Lake Calhoun. (Get off at Calhoun Square/Lake Street, start walking west on Lake, which is to the right of the direction the bus is traveling, til you see Lake Calhoun. Gorgeous area, and Lake Harriet is even better)
Check out the maps to get your bearings:

(Downtown and Lakes Area would be the ones)
