Need help getting around today

I want to spend part of this afternoon at the lakes (Calhoun or Harriet), but I would also like to eat and shop in Uptown on the way or way back. We are staying at the Westin. Anybody help with bus routes that will allow me to do this?

Also I need to buy a Swedish gift for a friend at home-any little Swedish shoppes in Uptown or Nicolette?

Finally, thinking of going to Acme Comedy tonight. What is the best way to get there and back from my hotel? We have a rental car, but parking has been a bear- so we would rather bus or walk if safe and not too far. Website for this place?

Thanks for any info.

The 17C would work. It runs down Nicollet Mall (a block off Marquette and 6th, where the hotel is -- so you can pick it up at closest bus stop on the mall) to Nicollet Avenue, to 24th Street over to Hennepin and on down to Lagoon. If you get off at Lagoon and Knox, you%26#39;ll be right where you want to be to enjoy Calhoun. Coincidentall, the path over to the much prettier Harriet is pretty much the opposite side of the lake from where that bus stop is. It would be a nice walk to wander over there.

If you%26#39;re looking for that connector, walk around the lake until you see Richfield Road intersect with Calhoun Parkway. Off of that is a smaller road, Williams Berry. It%26#39;s about 1/3 mile to the lake down that nicely scenic walkway/road. My favorite part of Minneapolis lies ahead of and along this road!

As for ACME, just do a search and it will pop up. It%26#39;s with Sticks restaurant. And you should take a taxi -- that will be easiest and pretty cheap. That%26#39;s what I would do at least.
