Is there a cabin by the beach?

Hi,

I%26#39;m looking to take my wife and 11 year old son on a short vacation.

I am looking for a cabin on the beach and remembered that Prior lake was very clean and it is not to far from Faibault where we live.

I have been searching for accomadations on the internet and have not been having much luck.

If anyone can help me find a cabin or even a nice hotel room thats close to the beach I would be very thankful.

Terry

Is there a cabin by the beach?

Sorry... Prior Lake is solid Twin Cities suburb now and lakeshore is valuable residential property... no cabins to be had there. (My friend, who works for the MN-DNR Fisheries office that covers Prior Lake, had to suppress a laugh when I asked about any possibility of cabins there.) The old downtown is a relic, as most of the business has migrated/grown to the crossroads of Hwy 13 %26amp; Co. Rd. 42.

Sand Point Beach (just S. of Co. Rd. 42 at the Co. Rd 18 tee) is nontheless a nice city-run beach/fishing pier/park on the north side (a.k.a. Lower Prior Lake, as it drains northward toward the Minnesota River). If you are thinking of bringing your own boat, be aware boat ramp parking spaces there and at the Upper Prior Lake access are small and fill quickly, so avoid the typical busy water-rec. times if you can.

Nearest lodging (and money-sucker, er-- ';gaming and entertainment';) would be the Mystic Lake casino. Other nearby lodging centers would be Burnsville and Shakopee.
