Going to Stone Temple Pilots Show in St.Paul...few questions

We are coming to the Twin Cities June 6 from Winnipeg for this concert..Any suggestions on a good hotel close to lots of good bars %26amp; clubs. I%26#39;m thinking somewhere close to First Ave/Warehouse District?? Or should we just stay out in St.Paul,is there any good clubs out there close to the Xcel Energy Centre?? Either way I%26#39;m sure we will spend lots on cab rides.lol...Looking for a club that is safe with lots of good looking ladies %26amp; rock music/top 40 playing. Any other ideas for our weekend besides partying?? I%26#39;m sure we will check out the Mall of America %26amp; the Twins are on the road...Thanks in advance for all the responses:)

I would stay in Minneapolis.

The Marriott is close and is nice. You can walk to 1st ave.

Yeah you def want minneapolis... St. paul kinda shuts down after 5pm. There are some sports bars near the Xcel Center, but nothing real crazy. Stay at a hotel near 1st ave so you can walk to/from the bars, and you can take a cab or bus to st paul for the show.

The Marquette Hilton Hotel in the IDS Tower downtown Minneapolis has an insanely low internet rate via Expedia for June 6. I%26#39;d check that out.

The Marquette by Hilton Lowest avg rate $93.00

Here%26#39;s a few others -- all walking distance.

The Westin Minneapolis Lowest avg rate $129.00

Radisson Plaza Hotel Minneapolis avg rate $110.00

For clubs in Minneapolis -

maybe the Lodge %26amp; DrinkBar.

You could to a riverboat cruise for few hours on Sat on the Mississippi.

Saturday and Sunday

12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m. Sightseeing and Lock Cruise $16.95

Saturday and Sunday

Or hang out around Lake Calhoun just south of downtown - it%26#39;s a popular spot -

Or there%26#39;s an amusement park about 30 min southwest of downtown Minneapolis.

Agreed on Minneapolis. I think the best club is the Lounge, by far. Others try too hard. Lounge has been doing it for a while.

For the ';good-looking ladies'; it%26#39;s very good. A little lower key than some of the louder places like Spin, but loud and packed might be your thing.

I think the closest hotel to xcel is Kelly BestWestern, but there%26#39;s nothing good for clubs in St. Paul. There are some really fun Gay bars and no shortage of dive/sports bar....and Station 4 is good for nightly live music.

The Minneapolis Warehouse district (Target center area) is loaded with what you%26#39;re looking for.

For a good hotel value there, you may want to check out the Marriott TownePlace suites. I get rooms there on priceline often for half the ad rate. It%26#39;s just about one mile (easy walk) through the warehouse district to the target center and LRT station. There are busses to St. Paul.
