We will be in the Minneapolis area the week of June 30th to the 4th, and are wanting to visit good quality furniture stores. We are looking for traditional style furniture, reasonable prices, but good quality. Suggestions?
Furniture stores
I recommend Gabbert%26#39;s. They%26#39;re in the Galleria in Edina.
Furniture stores
Near Gabbert%26#39;s is Room and Board. A bit pricey but the best furniture in this area. You can check out the Room and Board outlet off Olson Memorial Highway NW of Minneapolis too. Great deals there for great furniture. It%26#39;s open limited days of week and I can%26#39;t tell you what days -- maybe just weekends. And it gets busy. But the deals are incredible.
Didn%26#39;t gabberts leave the galleria?
According to their website, they%26#39;re still in the Galleria. They did go through a massive renovation about a year ago though. I believe the store was closed for a short time.
Edina is the place to shop for furniture in the Twin Cities. Gabberts is still there, they remodeled and the store is slightly smaller. Part of the reason for the remodel was to make room for a Crate and Barrel furniture store. As previously mentioned, you could also check out Room %26amp; Board. There are also several other furniture stores in Edina, including Thomasville and a more contemporary store across 70th from the Galleria. Macys also has a nice home store south of the Galleria on France.
The Room %26amp; Board outlet is only open on the weekends, Saturday from 10-4 and Sun from 12-4.
If you want something more mid-scale, try these (also near the Edina-area locales mentioned previously, but w/branches throughout the Twin Cities). These are in Bloomington on the I-494 strip between France Avenue and Lyndale Avenues:
HOM (+ free cookies and soft drinks)
7800 Dupont Avenue S. Bloomington, MN 55420 (952) 346-6888
Slumberland (more than just beds)
7801 Xerxes Ave. S. Bloomington, MN 55431 (952) 888-6204
We got some living room furniture and our bookshelves between these two stores.
