My family from the UK is going to Minneapolis in Sept. They are thinking of staying at the Residence Inn at the Depot because they can get a suite with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms. One member of the family is confined to a wheel chair. Will they be centrally located and able to get around downtown Minn. from the Depot? Is the skyway accessible from there?
Does anyone have any idea of a better located hotel that would have 2BR/BA?
Is something going on in town the week of Sept. 8th that hotels are so booked?
TIA
The Depot Area?
We%26#39;ve stayed at The Depot for my employer%26#39;s annual holiday party and it is very nice. It is downtown but is not real ';central'; to the rest of downtown so most likely will involve some walking. The skyway network appears to be accessable directly across Washington Ave. from The Depot.
…wikipedia.org/wiki/Minneapolis_Skyway_System details of SkyWay system with link to a map. Note...some access points may not always be open if the building they are in is closed at street level. More info at: minneapolis.org/page/…skyways-minneapolis.jsp
The Republican National Convention is Sept. 1-4 and more than likely many attendees are staying over through at least the weekend. As well as all the media support people needed to teat things down and pack up afterward. That could be part of it.
The Depot Area?
Sorry that%26#39;s ';tear things down';
