Question re: Matt's Bar & Jucy Lucy Burger

I am looking forward to a visit the second week of October for a conference. I would like to try a jucy lucy and wonder if Matt%26#39;s is a place that I could visit by myself. I will be staying at the Hyatt on Nicollet Mall and plan to take a taxi to Matt%26#39;s. Will it be easy to get a taxi to return to the hotel and is a jucy lucy worth the effort to go try one?

Thanks!

Taxi would be ok.

There will be plenty at the Hyatt. Just grab their phone number, and call them when you%26#39;re done for a pick up.

Also, you can take the light rail line to Lake Street and walk maybe 7 blocks.

Matt%26#39;s is at -

3500 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis, MN - (612) 722-7072‎

Cedar would be six blocks west, and then five blocks south, from the Lake Street station.

Here%26#39;s the light rail mail.

From the Hyatt, walk up to 5th street to catch the light rail.

Hey nurseallie-

Matt%26#39;s is a neighnborhood burger joint thats been serving Jucy Lucy%26#39;s since at least the 70%26#39;s (when our gang would go in bleary eyed for a good burger), as it is located in south Mpls, take the taxi- it%26#39;s the best choice if your going alone..as far as the effort- keep in mind it%26#39;s a cheesebuger and beer joint..have fun..

Thanks so much for the info, you guys are great! I will plan to give it a try, and will try the public transportation since I would enjoy a little walk also. I%26#39;ve never been to this part of the country and I%26#39;m really looking forward to seeing Minneapolis. I%26#39;m sure I will have more questions the closer I get, so you may hear from me again...

On you way back from Matt%26#39;s, near the Lake Street rail station, there%26#39;s two grocery stores - Cub %26amp; Rainbow, as well as a Target.

Target is also downtown Minneapolis, but not grocery stores, yet. So if you need to pick some stuff up for your trip, swing in on your way back.

To the east of the station one block.
