Hi,
My husband and I are flying in from Singapore to Vancouver, via St Paul.
My oldest friend in the world is flying in from Florida to meet me in St Paul with her 4 year old daughter.
We are basically just going to spend time together. (Haven%26#39;t seen her in almost 10 years!) No need for sights - unless there is something just at the hotel/near the hotel.
Is Days Inn St Paul Minneapolis Midway in a good location?
Bearing in mind I reach St Paul at 12.35 pm and she reaches St Paul at 1.30 pm. We both fly out the next morning, she at 8.40 am, back to Florida and I, at 9 plus am, to Vancouver.
I have read the reviews and they seem OK. They mentioned the bar as well - will it be too noisy? Is it an OK place with a 4 year old child?
And most importantly, how far is this hotel from the airport?
Thanks in advance!
Days Inn St Paul Minneapolis Midway
I have never been in the hotel itself but do live nearby and drive by it frequently; it does seem to always be busy so that is a good sign. However, it is in a mostly industrial area and there are really no restaurants or bars within a short walk of the hotel so anything beyond the hotel bar means you would need a cab or car.
Its 7-8 miles from the airport. I would suggest looking for something in the Bloomington area or in either downtown: St. Paul is about 7-8 miles from the airport and Minneapolis is about 10 miles.
For approximately the same cab fare as the midway location the downtowns give you a plethora of eating/drinking options within walking distance of most any hotel.
For about half that you can stay closer to the airport, in Bloomington, which is near the Mall of America.
Here is a good spot to estimate cab fares:

Good luck and have a great visit with your friend!
Days Inn St Paul Minneapolis Midway
Hi,
Thanks very much for the info and for the link (very useful!!!!)
Based on your recommendations, I have decided to look for a place at Bloomington and quite a lot of hotels have shuttles to the airport (excellent!!!!), plus some also have shuttles to the MOA (which is good as we%26#39;d need to get dinner at night!!)
Am so looking forward to seeing my friend! :-)
Thanks once again.
Glad to help! You will have many more options in Bloomington than the Midway location offers.
Good luck and enjoy your trip %26amp; reunion.
I Would not suggest you stay there at all. The twin cities has much better offerings than that.
By the way. St.Paul and Minneapolis downtowns are about five miles apart.
If you think of a trianle resting on its tip.
Mineapolis is the upper left-st paul th eupper right- and the airport is the tip on th ebottom.

Some of the others here might be able to suggest a hotel with a water park near the mall.
Also if it is a gloomy or rainy day, you coul dhead over to the mall which has a real ammusement park - very young child friendly.
