I would like a tour of the twin cities. Which tour is best: MetroConnections, Minneapolis Tours or Grayline?
Bus tours
I don%26#39;t have any dircet experience- since I live here - but I looked at their sites quickly.
I would ot want to go on the Metro-connections tour. They actually include a drive-by of the Mall of America. Nothing to look at and you get to see about 10 lanes of superhighway.
I often see the tours going near my home. Oe of the compaaes has a cute red-';trolly'; like vehicle. The others use full size coach buses.
If I were doing it, I would figure out which of the remaining two used that (I think it may be Greyline)
Bus tours
Thanks for your response. Each of the tours, including Grayline, departs from the Mall of Georgia, however. Is MetroConnections part of the public transportation system which includes light rail, etc.?
No it is not part of the transit system, although I can see why you might think that.
Our big system is called metro transit.
One of the nicknames for this part of minnesota is ';the metro';, so you see that a lot.
In this case metro transit is run by the metropolitan council...see what I mean.
By the way - I am now completely unsure which company uses the trollies.
Update -
I just saw a Metro-connections tour bus while walking the dog - they use a full size coach bus.
MetroConnections and Minneapolis Tours appears to be the same outfit. They also offer some specialty seasonal tours. The stop at the Mall helps those doing a day layover from the airport, or wanting to shop at the mall afterwards. Another cool option is St. Paul%26#39;s Gangster Tour on Saturdays. It gives a colorful glimpse at the city%26#39;s sordid past (who knew!) and overall city history and offerings.
