Minneapolis for the Summer

I%26#39;ll be in Minneapolis for the remainder of the summer by myself on business. I%26#39;m only going to have Saturdays available and am wondering what things you recommend I do/see. I%26#39;m not much of an outdoorsy person and don%26#39;t think the MOA is going to be high on my list. I am up for day trips. I would really appreciate your help!

Minneapolis for the Summer

Although outdoors is where Minneapolis really excells in the summer there are literally hundreds of museums to visit. www.exploreminnesota.com could keep you busy for a year with indoor type things to do. Here are a few suggestions, but by no means an entire list: Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Walker Art Center, Weisman Art Museaum, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minnesota Orchestra, Bakken Museum of Electricity, Science Museum of Minnesota, Bell Museum of History, Como Harriet Streetcar, Mill City Museum, Stonearche Bridge, Guthrie Theatre, Boat excursion on Mississipi, Lake Minnetonka or St. Croix River, Minneapolis Farmer%26#39;s Market, Minneahaha Falls, Lake Harriet all really fun places to visit.

For day trips Stillwater is fun. You can do a boat ride, or a great trolley tour of mansions owned by lumber barrons. Lots of shops and cafes on the St. Croix River. Again www.exploreminnesota can tell you all the festivals, scenic drives and events happening all over the state.

Don%26#39;t forget the Aquatennial and Minnesota State Fair taking place later on this summer.

Where will you be staying and what types of things do you like?

The Rennaisance Festival is fun and runs late August - September in Shakopee.

If you%26#39;re looking for social events, you may want to check out www.meetin.org

It%26#39;s free, and you never know what people will post.
