Any suggestion for a (preferably) romantic, weekend getaway from Minneapolis in Dec. Preferably by car however would not mind catching a flight if not too expensive

I think I am going to settle on Galena, IL. Its not much warmer than Minneapolis but it seems like a quaint town. Any suggestions on accomodation. Thanks a lot for your help!

I%26#39;ve been there several times and enjoyed visiting, but it%26#39;s been a while and has probably changed since then. I do recall it being very historic, scenic and romantic, esp around the holidays. I would suggest checking out the TripAdvisor overview page or these links:
