Cook and Ely area -- How are the bugs in July?

Coming to stay at Ludlows Island and will be boating and touring the area... everyone tells us the bugs will make us miserable... true? We%26#39;re from So. Cal and are used to a few mosquitoes, but...

How%26#39;s the weather that time of year - 7/5-7/13

Sure looks stormy!

Hey Babs45...

Yup, the bugs are in the Northwoods and you will need a can of bug spray. The worst times usually are morning and evening. If there is a breeze, it helps keep them away. Out on the water unless your close to shore you shouldn%26#39;t have a problem. Weather can be 80%26#39;s and sunny or high 60%26#39;s and rainy- if you have rain ponchos or light rain gear- bring it along. The weather can change very fast up there. It is a very beautiful lake and woods area where you are going...enjoy!

Right now the bugs are awful on the Iron Range. The advice to have bug spray is great advice. Hopefully we will have some dry weather here soon and hopefully you will get a breeze off the lake during the day to keep the bugs away. At night it will probably be pretty bad though.
