Best area to stay in Minneapolis/St Paul ?

We are flying from England on 12 September 08 for three night stay in Minneapolis then on to South Dakota for rv trip.

Could anyone tell us the best area to stay ? Also mid-priced hotels ! We prefer to be somewhere with restaurants, theatres, cinema etc rather than at airport or near the Mall.

Best area to stay in Minneapolis/St Paul ?

Yes, downtown Minneapolis is the spot to satisfy those needs. It has theaters (take a look at the options at the Guthrie), cinema (Block E) and restaurants are in abundance. Nowhere else in this area has everything in such close proximity.

I would look into the hotels on or near Nicollet Mall. I would consider Marquette high quality and mid-priced (especially for someone about to get a fantastic exchange rate!). Great location.

Also worth checking into would be Grand Hotel (a little spendier but a little more luxury -- still a good location too). And of course, the Radisson Plaza on 7th Street.
