Halloween in the cities?

Hi! I know Anoka is supposedly the Halloween capital of the world, but I talked to some people that lived there and they said apart from the parade, its not a big a deal as you would think.

So i%26#39;m wondering about the cities (minneapolis/st. paul) anything you can tell me. The best neighborhoods for trick or treating, children%26#39;s parties, adult parties, halloween festivals, bashes, etc. Like what are some well known ones they have annually?? I tried gocitykids.com but they didn%26#39;t have anything relating to Halloween.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Halloween in the cities?

I too am an avid Halloween fan, my favorite holiday! The only places I have found information re: Halloween events are TwinCities.CitySearch.com and the City Pages, and sometimes The Rake magazine (rakemag.com). There are tons of things happening, but they%26#39;re just not advertised very well.

I would think the best areas for kids to trick or treat include Edina, St Louis Park and the Highland area of St Paul. Also, Summit Ave is pretty nice. Not sure how good it is for treating, but the Governor%26#39;s Mansion usually gives out a nice booty.

Halloween in the cities?

I%26#39;m not a fan of halloween, so I don%26#39;t have personal experience of going to these places.

For adults, you can try Valleyscare or the Trail of Terror. Valleyscare does have some kid-friendly nights. Valleyscare is located at Valleyfair. The Trail of Terror is located at the MN Renaissance Festival site.

For kids, I think you can trick or treat at the MOA and there are various events for kids leading up to Halloween there like the Park after Dark.

Most of the twin cities shopping malls have trick or treating for kids and sometimes other family oriented entertainment. MOA advertises that they have a special allegeren free zone. Each mall has a web site that will probably have upcoming event info. I know that when I worked out at Eden Prairie mall the kids made a decent haul. Best thing about mall trick or treating is that it is always warm and you don%26#39;t have to cover your costume with a winter coat, but they usually don%26#39;t allow masks. Both Como and the Minnesota zoos have halloween events.
